ABOUT
I am Dr. Letisha Malcolm, a strategist, advisor, and visionary dedicated to guiding leaders, institutions, and nations toward transformative global impact. My work spans leadership development, international advisory, and policy innovation, all aimed at fostering sustainable, inclusive change.
In addition to my global work, I am a 15-year Social Science educator, currently teaching Government at an alternative high school in the District of Columbia. I hold a doctorate in Administration & Social Policy, where my dissertation examined political discourse, ideological bias, and power dynamics in historical legislative policies at both the national and state levels, with a focus on political inclusion and economic mobility for African Americans. I also earned a Master’s in Leadership and Management, concentrating on cultural and community social cohesion and diplomacy, along with a U.S. Public Policy certificate from Harvard University’s Extension School. As a Fulbright Scholar, I conducted research in Ghana, studying postcolonial governance, tribal power dynamics, economic and cultural practices, and diplomatic relations with the United States.
My professional foundation was built at the great Bethune-Cookman University, where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Humanities. There, I learned of the enduring legacy of Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune, the first African American Presidential Advisor, a key framer of the 1945 United Nations Charter, and the first Black person to be honored with a state-commissioned statue in the U.S. Capitol’s Statuary Hall, replacing that of a Confederate general. Her vision for education, leadership, and global citizenship continues to anchor and inspire my work on the world stage.
I currently serve as Vice President of Education & Exchange and Ambassador for Global Education for Black Professionals in International Affairs. My experience includes serving as Program Manager and Embassy Liaison for the UNESCO Center for Peace, and former Dean of Education for the Church of God in Christ's World Missions Department, overseeing programs for leaders in over 110 countries. I am a member of the Washington Educational and Cultural Attaché Association and the Washington Intergovernmental Professional Group, and I provide programming support for the United Nations' Africa Open for Business Summit.
